Day 7- Favorite Story Adaptation (Anime, Manga, Movie, Adolescence Manga)
Hands-down the anime. It is the most emotional and significant adaptation. Not necessarily the most quality in terms of visuals, but still an absolute delight to watch.

I feel like this should be absolutely no surprise. Nor should I need explain the massive amount of feelings I have for these two lovely ladies.

Favorite story arc (Student Council, Black Rose, Akio Car, Apocalypse).
This might sound a little cliched but my favorite arc is definitely Apocalypse. The heart-wrenching culmination of the whole story is absolutely hands-down one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced.

My favorite hands-down duel song is by far Duelist ~ Revive! Infinite History of the Middle Ages from Adolescence Apocalypse [the Utena movie].
Runners up are Paleozoic Within The Flesh and Virtual Star Embryology [ED Theme Edit].
Favorite Male Character and Why
Again this is a really close tie and I am always, always a huge fan of really complex characters. I’m going to say that this one is a direct tie between Touga and Akio with Saionji coming in close third. Outwardly Touga is intensely shallow, the perfect campus ladies’ man. However throughout the story, particularly in the last few arcs of the anime and the movie, we find him to be much more than that. In many ways except the literal, Touga actually is Utena’s prince.
Akio on the other hand is an exercise in my unfathomable affection for despicable characters, not to mention the absolutely fascinating story of just how Dios begets Akio and vise-versa. He is the greatest anti-hero, though never exactly a villain. And of course, he’s dead sexy as hell.
Favorite Female Character and Why
If I honestly had to pick one single favorite character, I suppose it would have to be Anthy. She is a character of absolutely unfathomable depth and sadness, and is one of the hardest nuts to crack, so to speak. I could spend hours expanding on her possible motivations, her true self and feelings throughout the story and still not reach any one concrete conclusion. I love Utena, don’t get me wrong. But Utena is someone I aspire to be more like, a role model per se. Anthy Himemiya is and always will be one of the most complex characters in the history of anime, in my humble opinion.
